Foo Fighters postpone Los Angeles show due to COVID

Tickets will be honored for the new date when it’s announced

Foo Fighters have postponed their show at the Los Angeles Forum on Saturday (July 17th) due to COVID. The band shared the news late Wednesday night (July 14th), stating it will be rescheduled.

“Despite having made every effort to follow CDC COVID protocols and local laws, there has been a confirmed COVID-19 case within the Foo Fighters organization,” the band shares on social media.

“Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and most of all the fans, Saturday’s show at the Los Angeles Forum is being postponed to a later date.

“The new date will be announced shortly. Tickets for the July 17th date will be honored for the new date.”

The show would see the band perform the first full capacity concert at the iconic Forum in more than a year. It would also be the band’s second full capacity California show since the pandemic. Last month, the Foos performed at The Canyon in Agoura Hills for free. Tickets were only $26 and concertgoers were given 12 hours notice before three thousand patrons showed up to purchase all 600 tickets.

On June 20th, they performed a sold out, full-capacity Madison Square Garden show that welcomed live music back to New York after more than 460 days. The three hour show featured 24 songs including an appearance from Dave Chapelle for a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.” They dedicated the performance to their late stage manager, Andy Pollard, who passed away unexpectedly two days before.

Foo Fighters are headlining this year’s Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and BottleRock and kick off the 25th 26th Anniversary Tour on July 28th with Redkey as support. Ahead of the tour next month, they will also perform their first-ever Alaskan shows. The band will perform the Last Frontier on August 17th and 19th at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, and August 21st at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.

Dave Grohl and Co will release Hail Satin, a tribute to the Bee Gees, as The Dee Gees, on limited edition vinyl packaged in an era-appropriate rainbow mylar sleeve. The disco record is part of the second Record Store Day Drops in 2021 and features Bee Gees covers on one side and live at 606 renditions of roughly half of Foo Fighters Medicine at Midnight album.
