Nicks sits all five dates out due to COVID

Stevie Nicks has canceled all five of the tour dates she had planned for 2021. The rock legend shared the news this week on social media, claiming the uptick in COVID cases as her reason.

“These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising COVID cases should be of concern to all of us,” she shares on Instagram. “While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautions and for that reason have decide to skip the five performances I had planned for 2021. Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer. I’m devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”

Nicks dates involved festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival that canceled over the weekend due to COVID. She was also set to perform at the ACL Fest which has added Duran Duran to its lineup instead with Chris Stapleton replacing her at BottleRock Napa.

The Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam 2021 has also been postponed to June 2022 due to rising cases. Many artists have also been forced to postpone or cancel tour stops due to COVID cases within their touring camps.
