The 1975 has announced that that they will headline New York City’s fabled Madison Square Garden on June 1st. An artist ticket pre-sale for the show begins January 10th at 10 am ET. Tickets will be available to the general public beginning Saturday, January 14th at 10 am ET via their website.

Last month, the band wrapped its 2016 North American headlining arena tour, which included sold out shows at The Forum in Los Angeles and The Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The British quartet has been touring in support of its second album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it (Dirty Hit / Interscope Records), which debuted at No. 1 on both the UK and US chart. It was one of the top six shortlisted Albums of the Year at the prestigious Mercury Prize 2016, also winning the public vote. The latest single from the album, “Somebody Else,” is currently Top 10 at Modern Rock Radio, while its video has racked up more than 14 million views. The single was listed on Pitchfork’s Top 100 songs of 2016 and Consequence of Sound’s Top 50 of 2016.

I like it when you sleep… has been included on several year-end “Best of 2016” critics lists, including those compiled by Rolling Stone (#1 Pop Album), Spin, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, Noisey, Idolator, Stereogum, Complex, and NPR, who also included the single “A Change of Heart” on its Top Songs of 2016 chart.
