“Hereโs to You” is the rising duo’s latest single
Quartz Hill Recordsโ newest signing, soulful country-pop duo 2 Lane Summer, releases โHereโs to You,โ a summer-party-time toast to our sometimes-forgotten small-town Americans. The infectious, sing-along track is available now across all digital retail and streaming partners.
Best known for their heartfelt romantic ballads, culminating in the release of debut EP The Love Songs, 2 Lane Summerโs Joe Hanson and Chris Ray pick up the tempo when raising a glass in โHereโs to You.โ But while the duo might be pushing pause on their love songs era, โHereโs to Youโ still tips a cowboy hat To the hometown country girls / Makinโ our world spin around.
At the same time, though, this uptempo pop-rocker with a jangly, electric-guitar-driven chorus is all about celebrating work-hard, play-hard country guys.
โWe wanted to put out a song for all the hard-working, blue-collar people โ to let them know weโre right there with you,โ says Ray. โWhen weโve played the song live, the response we got from the crowd was incredible. People were raising their drinks up, and singing โHereโs to Youโ with us, which was really cool to see.โ
โIt just kind of turned the atmosphere into a party and really unified everybody together to celebrate the country men and women who make the world go โround,โ adds Hanson. โI love that โHereโs to Youโ honors the people who don’t usually get all the attention and the accolades.โ
โHereโs to Youโ was penned by hit songwriter Ash Bowers (Matt Stellโs multi-platinum No. 1 โPrayed for Youโ) alongside Johnny Dailey, and Jaron Boyer (Dierks Bentleyโs multi-Platinum smash โSomewhere on a Beachโ). Bowers also produced the track.
2 Lane Summer returned to Nashville this week after an epic two-week road trip from Tennessee to California and back. The duo traveled along iconic American two-lane roads, including Route 66 and, made famous by the 1994 Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump, U.S. Route 163. The road trip took Hanson and Ray through nine states โ Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Wyoming, South Dakota and Missouri โ where they met many of the small-town Americans who are celebrated in โHereโs to You.โ The duo also published a series of travel vlogs on 2 Lane Summerโs YouTube channel.
With smooth vocal harmonies, 2 Lane Summer has amassed a fast-growing fan base, including more than 460,000 social media followers.
