Music is one of the most inspirational influences we have today. There is constantly new music being put out there and most of us just can’t keep up. I am asked quite often what music I am listening to, as people are constantly searching for new songs to upgrade their playlist. I find that my musical influences change almost weekly, however, with these five artists you can’t really go wrong. Each of them have their own style, sound and persona.
1. Post Malone
Born in NYC but raised in Dallas, TX Post Malone has a slight country side. At just 20 years old he continues to impress with his catchy beats and eccentric lyrics. Although some refer to him as a white rapper, the Republic Records recording artist is quick to rule out that title. Malone is not confined to a genre, his love for all music makes him a diverse and receptive artist. His previous single peaked at #5 on the Billboard R&B Chart and his latest single “Go Flex” was just released on April 20th. Post Malone’s music continues to push creativity and for that, I commend him.
2. Mickey Guyton
Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Mickey Guyton has one of the most elegant voices in country music. A Texan with a massive spirit, Guyton is known for delivering smooth vocals as well as a magical live performance. Guyton was nominated for New Female Vocalist Of The Year via 2016 ACM’s and once she starts to serenade you understand why. She is soulful, graceful and all around flawless.

Rapper, Cleveland Native and all around bad ass are just a few adjectives that describe MGK. In 2011, Kelly won his first MTV award for Hottest Breakthrough MC and it was well deserved. A product of Bad Boy/Interscope Records he is continuously making music. His music is raw, powerful and motivational. Lyrically his music defines struggles and hardships. Music is meant to be felt, not just heard. Kelly has a natural passion for his craft. His most recent album titled General Admission is an accurate portrayal of the young rapper’s circumstances and was delivered without fault. An edgy artist with no desire to surrender, Machine Gun Kelly resonates art.
4. Ed Sheeran
An English singer/songwriter signed to Elektra Records, Ed Sheeran is known for his heavy lyrical content as well as his impeccable vocals. Sheeran is a two time Grammy winner and continues to tour worldwide. His music is emotional, original and all around untarnished. He has a remarkable skill of covering songs and making them his own.
