The band will visit the region for the 14th time
Frontier Touring announces the return of Foo Fighters for a one-night-only early 2026 performance at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, Australia, on Saturday, January 24th.
Famous for their love of Australia, the news marks the band’s first live show in Tasmania since 2015 and their first ever time in Launceston. Foo Fighters were last on our shores in November and December 2023, when they played to sold-out stadiums in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in celebration of their universally acclaimed 11th studio album, But Here We Are.
Marking their 14th visit to Australia with this special show at UTAS Stadium, the band has a history of delivering jaw-dropping surprise performances: in March 2022, Foo Fighters reignited the nation, delivering a blistering, history-making performance in Geelong, VIC.
Presales start on Friday, December 5th, ahead of the general sale on Wednesday, December 10th at 4 pm AEDT.
Supporting Foo Fighters on the night will be two rising Aussie bands — Brisbane rockers Full Flower Moon Band, and Launceston psych trio Spooky Eyes.
The event will be held ahead of the group’s massive 2026 tour, which sees the Foos headlining venues throughout the globe. The new tour will see Foo Fighters bringing the euphoria of the band’s recent surprise US club gigs and overseas outdoor and arena spectaculars to 12 North American cities, concluding (for now) September 26th at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. European concerts will be held over the summer.
The Foo Fighters recently released their new song, “Asking for a Friend.” Featuring a decidedly darker melodic approach than the smash hit “Today’s Song,” “Asking for a Friend” ratchets up the energy and intensity of its predecessor in favor of hypnotic opening verses that build and explode into impassioned refrains of “What is real? I’m asking for a friend…”
