The band is expected to return Dec 8th

Aerosmith has canceled Monday night’s (Dec 5th) Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas show while frontman Steven Tyler continues to recover from an undisclosed illness. The rockers shared the news on social media.

“Unfortunately tomorrow’s show, Monday December 5th, in Las Vegas has to be cancelled,” the band shares. “Steven Tyler said, ‘on the advice of my doctor, I’m taking more time to rest… there is nowhere we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.'” they write. “We sincerely apologize.”

Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will automatically be refunded with all other refunds available at point of purchase.

The news follows the last minute cancelation of the Friday night show due to Tyler unexpectedly falling ill.

“It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform,” that statement reads. “He is expected to make a full recovery for Monday nights Las Vegas show. We sincerely apologize for the last minute notice. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be automatically refunded. All other refunds will be available at point of purchase.”

The group is expected to return for their final two residency shows on December 8th and 11th.

The band canceled the summer run of residency shows as Tyler entered a rehab facility. The group returned to the stage in September for the final run of dates that ends December 11th.

The residency is the first live concert experience presented in Dolby Atmos. Dolby Live is one of the world’s most technologically advanced performance venues for enjoying live music in Dolby Atmos audio.

Earlier this year, drummer Joey Kramer announced a leave of absence to focus on his family. Three months later, it was announced that his wife Linda had passed away without revealing the cause of death. There’s no word on when Kramer, who’s had several medical setbacks of his own in recent years, will return to the stage. Drum tech John Douglas is currently manning the throne and will be debuting his art at the Animazing Gallery at the Venetian this weekend.

The group is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the 50 Years Live!: From the Aerosmith Vaults, the band’s new “official bootleg” streaming concert series featuring five deep, archival, and unreleased multi-camera live shows from the group’s vast personal vaults. With the entire production of all five concert films supervised by the band, the series features a different concert from each decade which are streaming on their Official YouTube Channel.

In September, the classic rockers broke a Fenway Park attendance record for the most tickets ever sold for a concert at a historic MLB stadium. They hosted more than 38,700 fans, breaking Lady Gaga’s August record of 37,200.
