Aespa shares ‘Supernova’ Grimes Remix

iScreaM Vol.33 : Supernova / Armageddon Remixes is available now

Global pop sensation Aespa has teamed up with Grimes for a remix of their addictive summer banger “Supernova.” The track features on iScreaM Vol. 33: Supernova / Armageddon Remixes out now via SM Entertainment/Virgin Records.

Grimes renders “Supernova” in a dream-pop intergalactic landscape with layered vocals and sweeping, celestial synths. The avant-garde electronic music artist and producer described her production as a return to “cyber twee.” She posted on X, “I normally don’t do remixes but I could not resist messing with this acapella even though the original production on this song is undefeatable. I went back to cyber twee for this… it’s very Grimesy.”

The Grimes Remix offers a fresh interpretation of Aespa’s biggest hit to date – “Supernova” which spent an impressive 15 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on major Korean music platforms Melon and Genie, even setting a new record on Melon for the longest-running No. 1 in the platform’s history, surpassing a milestone that had been in place since its launch in November 2004.

The EP also features three new remixes of “Armageddon” by Flava D, and fast-rising Korean DJ/producers 2Spade and Mount XLR.

Renowned DJ and producer Flava D reimagines Aespa’s “Armageddon” as a spiky drum ‘n’ bass track, blending old school elements with a modern edge. With an enviable catalogue that traverses garage, grime, bassline, and DnB, Flava D adds a distinctly British essence to this monster K-pop smash.
