“No One” has earned more than ten million US sales and streams
Alicia Keys has earned her first diamond award as a solo artist. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified “No One” as diamond for sales and streams of more than ten million in the US alone.
Keys posted the announcement on Friday (Aug 16th) on her socials.
“A song that is there for us when we need it most. Singing this song, together, all over the world is magical each and every time,” Keys shares. “Thank you for loving “No One” the way you do! Keep singing at the top of your lungs! We’re diamond status babbyyyyy!”
“No One” was released as the lead single from Keys’ second album, As I Am, in 2007. Keys co-wrote and produced the track with Kerry Brothers, Jr., with additional writing by DJ Dirty Harry.
The song topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for five consecutive weeks and topped the charts in Croatia, Hungary, and Switzerland. The song was the third biggest in the US and Brazil in 2008 and the Most Listened-To radio song in the US, heard by an estimated 3.08 billion listeners, according to Rolling Stone.
The track earned Keys two Grammys in 2008 for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song.
In the spring, Keys released the original song “Kaleidoscope” written for the new musical Hell’s Kitchen. The new release produced by Breyan Isaac and Keys, and co-produced by Adam Blackstone, features vocals by Keys, Maleah Joi Moon, and the Broadway company of Hell’s Kitchen, and is avaiable via Alicia Keys Records.
Hell’s Kitchen was conceived by the innovative mind of Alicia Keys, with music and lyrics by Keys, book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz, music supervision by Emmy and Grammy Award winner Adam Blackstone, music consulting by two-time Tony and Emmy winner Tom Kitt, choreography by Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown and direction by Tony Award nominee Michael Greif.
