To Nashville, With Love Fund will be Monday, March 9th

An all-star concert to benefit the victims of Tuesday’s tornadoes in Middle Tennessee was announced and sold out within two hours of going on sale on Friday (March 6th). Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Brothers Osborne, Dan Auerbach, Sheryl Crow, Old Crow Medicine Show and others are set to appear on Monday, May 9th at the Marathon Music Works in Nashville. Tickets were $75 and sold out within two hours of going on sale.

“Amanda [Shires, songwriter-wife] and I are proud to call Nashville our home, and we’re proud of the Nashville community’s ability to come together in a time of crisis,” Isbell says in a news release. “We’re lucky that our home and our loved ones are safe, but we know that isn’t the case for many Nashvillians. I’m happy to do what I can to help the city recover.”

Mike Grimes, co-owner of the tornado ravaged The Basement East venue, will make the opening remarks. Only the wall featuring the “I Believe in Nashville” mural was left standing of the venue following an EF2 twister that tore through its East Nashville neighborhood, one of the hardest hit from the storms.

Two dozen people were killed and about 150 sent to hospitals as the two tornadoes ravaged through five Middle Tennessee counties.

CMT, WSMV-TV and The American Red Cross held a three hour telethon that raised $385k in donations. Country stars, such as Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley, Cassadee Pope and Nashville’s Sam Palladio were among the celebrities who answered phones from CMT’s Downtown Nashville studios on Thursday (March 5th) for people wanting to donate around the country.

Nashville-based Gibson guitars is working to make guitarists affected by storms whole again, providing immediate help by giving a guitar to any musician whose instrument was damaged or destroyed through its charitable organization, Gibson Gives.

The To Nashville, With Love Fund was created by a group of music industry professionals to help raise vital funds after the devastating March 2020 tornadoes that struck Middle Tennessee. Funds raised will be dispersed between organizations helping with disaster relief and mental health after tragedy. All donations to this fund will be administered by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Founding Board of Advisors includes: Charlie Pierce, Doug Hall, Jay Williams, Jonathan Insogna, Marissa Smith and Tom Osborn.
