Allie Colleen shares ‘Boys Like You’

The rising country star calls out pretenders in cowboy hats with new song

Allie Colleen, known for her iconic voice and prowess as a songwriter, collaborated with Hasting and Drake Plantz to craft a catchy and exciting tune that will get stuck in your head, “Boys Like You.”

Allie Colleen exclaimed, “This song is a banger!”

Boys.. can’t live with them, can’t… well. This song is a play on the stereotypical downtown cowboy. Verses are laced with satire about the not-so-amazing things about said stereotypical boys, followed by a chorus of unfortunate truths.

“He said it was a date then took me to Silverado’s / Swears that the best cooking comes only from his momma / Drives his daddy’s truck, but bet he fixed it up / Tires don’t fit that Carolina lift kit / Got a Zyn can ring poking out his pocket / Says that he loves Whitley but only cause of Wallen / Buckle on his belt, just for show and tell / Wouldn’t reckon he’d last eight seconds / Another fake John Wayne / Such a goddamn shame – fuck I chased it anyway / There ain’t nothing new to write about heartbreak broke in boots / Mud on your tires , like tracks on my heart / Your ass in them jeans , I was hooked from the start / The way you reeled me in with that lakeside tan-line skin / I took the bait then you showed up late / They’re ain’t nothing new – to write about boys like you / Should have known better when every ‘ex was crazy’, never said my name but always called me baby / Story for every scar, Small town superstar / Should have ran for the hills when he pulled out that guitar,” she sings.

“Boys Like You” was produced by Drake Plantz and Josh Sudduth mixed and mastered at Sudds Studios in Nashville.
