Anne Wilson notches one billion global career streams

Wilson commemorates career milestone with plaque backstage at the Grand Ole Opry

Platinum-certified, Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson notches yet another career milestone, passing the one billion global career streams threshold. In a special moment backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, the Opry NextStage Class of 2024 artist was surprised by her team, including Capitol Christian Music Group, Universal Music Group Nashville, and the Story House Collective management team.

The achievement comes just three years into Wilson’s blossoming career, after first garnering notoriety with her RIAA-certified platinum single “My Jesus” and subsequent Grammy-nominated album, My Jesus. This recent accolade adds to her previously achieved three No. 1 Christian radio singles and was garnered before even releasing her album, Rebel.

Last week, Wilson, joined by country superstar Lainey Wilson, released a live recording of “Praying Woman” off her critically acclaimed Christian country album Rebel. The stripped-down acoustic performance was filmed in the Women of Country dressing room at the Grand Ole Opry.

Upon release on April 19th, the album secured the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spots on the Christian, Country, and All-Genre charts, respectively – an achievement that places her in the company of superstars Carrie Underwood, Chris Tomlin, and Hillary Scott, who have previously held Top 10 positions on both Billboard Christian and Country charts – further proving Wilson’s undeniable star power. Rebel also hit No. 10 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and notched more than 10.3 million total global streams in its first week, nearly doubling her Grammy-nominated album My Jesus‘ first week numbers of 5.6 million.
