Austin Snell releases ‘Wasting All These Tears’

Song is a Cassadee Pope cover

Grunge country artist Austin Snell has released a cover of Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears.” More than 40,000 fans have already used the sound on TikTok, sparking Snell to release it to additional outlets.

“I remembered hearing this song by Cassadee Pope in 2013 and loved it,” Snell says. “I forgot how much the song resonated with me, so I covered it on social media. The reaction was positive, so I had to put it out as people were asking for it!”

“Wasting All The Tears” has officially crossed the one million streams threshold. The track follows Snell’s first song, “Excuse The Mess,” which has been streamed more than eight million times globally.

“Wasting All These Tears” was written by Caitlyn Smith and Rollie Gaalswyk and appears on Pope’s solo debut, Frame By Frame. The song was certified Platinum in March 2014.

Pope’s version peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart and No. 10 on Billboard’s US Country Airplay chart. The video also won Breakthrough Video of the Year at the 2014 CMT Music Awards.
