Band performing live drive-in concert on Aug 29th

Due to overwhelming demand, The Avett Brothers’ first live show in six months has sold out instantly, with over 20,000 fans looking to buy tickets. The band announced their live drive-in concert at the legendary Charlotte Motor Speedway last week, and Charlotte Observer proclaimed, “if you’ve been missing live concerts by A-list musical acts, there’s hope on the horizon.” This special hometown show will celebrate the release of the three-time GRAMMY Award-nominees’ highly-anticipated new album The Third Gleam, out August 28th on American Recordings through Loma Vista Recordings, with the band playing the new music live for the first time on the speedway’s backstretch. Fans will experience the concert socially distanced, from their vehicles, with the stage broadcast on the speedway’s 16,000 square-foot television screen, one of the largest screens in the world. The ongoing Gleam series has been a favorite among fans for its traditional stripped-down sound, and The Avett Brothers return to their roots on The Third Gleam, a collection of eight songs that contemplate injustice, isolation, and mortality, as well as love, redemption, and hope. The band has offered a taste of the forthcoming album with lead single “Victory,” detailing the struggle to overcome mental darkness, and Paste has declared, “if ‘Victory’ is any indication of what’s to come, The Third Gleam could be some of their best work in years.”
