The tribute band phenomenon returns to AXS TV–cable’s premier music entertainment channel–September 9th for the fourth season premiere of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, a weekly live concert series celebrating the music from iconic artists in history. Host and executive producer Katie Daryl introduces an all-new lineup of tribute bands, performing live each week from the world famous Whisky A Go-Go club in Hollywood. The season kicks off with acclaimed Elvis Presley tribute artist Justin Shandor on September 9th at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT in a special, 90-minute tribute to the “King of Rock and Roll.”
In addition to classic rock favorites such as Pyromania: a Tribute to Def Leppard (September 16th), Dog N Butterfly: a Tribute to Heart (October 7th), and Fan Halen: a Tribute to Van Halen (October 14th), this season of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands gives viewers a two-for-one special September 30th as the music of Billy Joel and Elton John is performed dueling pianos-style by “Billy Joel 2 Elton John.” Other special episodes include “Ozzmania,” who take the stage October 28th, just in time for Halloween, to pay tribute to Ozzy Osborne and Black Sabbath, and “Bostyx” (November 4th) as one group captures the sounds of two epic bands: Boston and Styx.
“This season, we will not only deliver another full line-up of amazing tribute bands, but we’ve also mixed things up, offering incredible music experiences that could only happen through the power of the tribute,” said Daryl. “Nowhere else will you hear the music of Billy Joel and Elton John going head-to-head live or see one band take on the music of two rock legends like Boston and Styx, with a lead singer who actually tours with Boston.”
Fans in the Los Angeles area can attend live broadcasts of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands for free.
