Network premieres two Bruce Springsteen docs

AXS TV gets the fireworks started this July 4th weekend with the Red, White & Rock! event — an explosive three-day lineup celebrating some of America’s most iconic artists, airing Saturday, July 2nd through Monday, July 4th.

The block kicks off on July 2nd with a Saturday Stack roster putting the spotlight on the Sounds Of America, packed with Rock Legends profiles covering unique stateside stylings from Americana, southern rock, and Chicago blues, to Motown, New York hip hop, US heavy metal, and everything in-between. The weekend also delivers a selection of unforgettable performances by influential American legends such as Tom Petty, Kid Rock, Shania Twain, Soundgarden, Bon Jovi, Dolly Parton, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Heart, Mötley Crüe, and many more.

Red, White, & Rock! is headlined by a slate of premiere concert films and documentaries featuring rock mainstay Bruce Springsteen and alt-rock icons Pearl Jam.

Bruce Springsteen: The Promise – The Making Of ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town premieres on July 2nd. Combining never-before-seen footage with all-new sit-downs, this acclaimed documentary details the birth of one of The Boss’ most important albums and the intense three-year process to bring the signature blue-collar masterpiece to life.

Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band: ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ At The Paramount Theatre, Asbury Park also premieres on July 2nd. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band take the stage for one of their most intimate concerts ever, performing their landmark Darkness On The Edge Of Town album in its entirety in an empty theatre.

Pearl Jam Twenty makes its network premiere on July 3rd. Oscar-winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe captures the Seattle standouts on their first two decades of musical excellence, in this passionate offering featuring interviews with Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and the late Chris Cornell.

Pearl Jam: Let’s Play Two will also air on July 3rd. Hometown hero Eddie Vedder storms into the Windy City, as the band unleashes a career-spanning two-night set at Wrigley Field during the Cubs’ historic 2016 championship season.
