AXS TV premieres ‘Chicago: The Terry Kath Experience’

Michelle Kath Sinclair Sits Down with Family, Friends, and Fellow Legends to Get the Truth About Her Late Father’s Life

AXS TV, the premier destination for classic rock programming, presents the premiere of the acclaimed documentary Chicago: The Terry Kath Experience, airing on Tuesday, November 7th at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT.

Chicago: The Terry Kath Experience, which was an official selection at the renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), follows filmmaker Michelle Kath Sinclair on her compelling and emotional journey to learn the truth about her late father, groundbreaking Chicago guitarist and singer Terry Kath. Sitting down with the family, friends, bandmates, and fellow icons who knew him best, Sinclair paints a vivid picture of who her father was as both a man and an artist—from his heavy influence on the band that would become Chicago, to his tremendous skills that impressed fellow greats such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton—and sheds light on his tragic death that resulted from playing with a gun that he did not realize was loaded.

Helping Sinclair put the pieces of the puzzle together on her heartfelt quest is an impressive roster of music legends, featuring artists who played with Kath during his career, and famous musicians who were inspired by his unparalleled ability. Highlights include candid interviews with fellow Chicago founders Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, James Pankow, Walter Parazaider, Danny Seraphine, Lee Loughnane, and Chicago road manager Jerry Vaccarino; as well as Toto guitarist Steve Lukather; ELO frontman Jeff Lynne; Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers mainstay Mike Campbell; Stone Temple Pilots standout Dean DeLeo; and Eagles superstar Joe Walsh, among others.

The documentary will be released on VOD and DVD/Blu-ray by FilmRise on Tuesday, December 12th.
