Bastille, Alok team for multi-genre ‘Run Into Trouble’

Highly anticipated single available now

Brazilian dance music icon Alok has linked up with platinum-selling superstars Bastille on new single “Run Into Trouble” via Casablanca Records.

Channelling a slick, dance-pop vibe, “Run Into Trouble” combines Dan Smith’s instantly-recognizable vocals with smooth synths and an infectious slap house bassline. The release is fresh off the back of Bastille’s recent album Give Me The Future, which charted at No. 1 in the UK, while Alok recently performed a sold out show at London’s illustrious Ministry of Sound.

“I’ve been a fan of Bastille’s music since the very beginning and to be able to work with Dan and the boys on ‘Run Into Trouble’ was such a fun experience!” Alok explains. “We wanted to create something that represented both of our styles but still leaning into each other’s sound and pushing the track a little deeper. Dan really set the vocals alight and we hope you all enjoy what we created!”

“We’re massive fans of crying-on-the-dance floor sad bangers and had such a good time bringing this one to life with Alok,” Bastille adds. “We love the euphoria that he’s brought to it and can’t wait to play this tune live over the summer.”

Alok and Smith also have a shared interest in climate action, with Smith recently writing the score for forthcoming film Devil’s Breath, directed by Oscar-winner Orlando Van Einsidel, and Alok performing at the Global Citizen concert.

Alok is a bonafide dance music superstar, racking over 26 million Instagram followers and four billion streams on Spotify with massive hits including “Don’t Say Goodbye” and “Hear Me Now”. Recently voted No. 4 in the DJ Mag Top 100 awards, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential Brazilian artists of all time and is experiencing his breakout moment in the US. He was nominated for this year’s International Dance Music Awards for his hit remix of the Meduza single “Piece of Your Heart” (over 250 million streams) and partnered with global pop-sensation Dua Lipa for the official remix of her hit single “Physical”, as well as garnering wide-spread acclaim for a remix of legendary band The Rolling Stone’s single “Living In A Ghost Town.”

If this wasn’t enough, Alok broke global streaming records in 2020 with the debut of his penthouse floor show that racked in over 60 million views across various platforms and hit #1 on global trending Twitter during the stream. He entered the Billboard Top 50 on socials at No. 35, alongside Rihanna and Adele, and most importantly he raised awareness about the coronavirus issue in his home country and collected food and supplies for more than 20,000 families in Brazil.

With three UK No. 1 albums under their belt, Brit Award-winners Bastille are one of the most renowned bands on the planet, having also been nominated for two Grammys and two American Music Awards. Dan Smith is no stranger to dance music, having previously collaborated with Marshmello on global smash hit record “Happier,” which amassed over nine billion streams to date.

A cross-genre collaboration between global stars, “Run Into Trouble” throws up truly dazzling results.
