Big Time Rush reunites after eight years

Nickelodeon stars performing two US shows

Los Angeles-based boy band Big Time Rush, who starred on the Nickelodeon hit series of the same name, has announced a reunion after eight years with two performances in the US in 2021. The band will perform at the Chicago Theater on Wednesday, December 15th and at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Saturday, December 18th.

“WE ARE BACK! It’s been a minute, but we couldn’t be more excited to see you! Lets make up for lost time,” the group shares on social media.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, July 23rd via Ticketmaster at 10 am local time for NYC and 11 am local time for Chicago. Pre-sales start Wednesday, July 21st at 10 am and run through Thursday, July 22nd at 10 pm local time.

Big Time Rush consists of members Kendall Schmidt James Maslow Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson. The band released its debut album BTR in October 2010 and a second studio album Elevate was released in November 2011.

Big Time Rush produced 73 episodes over four seasons from 2009-2013. The show followed four Minnesota hockey players who had aspirations to become a boy band. Nickelodeon teamed with Sony Music to release original music from the series which ultimate appeared on the group’s debut album. Snoop Dogg and Cher were among the superstars who appeared throughout the show’s run. The group disbanded in 2013 to pursue solo careers.
