Billy Joel adds 89th MSG monthly residency show

Joel continues monthly residency in Mar 2023

Billy Joel has added another show as part of his record-breaking residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, March 26, 2023. The March show will mark Joel’s 89th monthly and 135th lifetime show at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

Citi cardmembers will have first access to presale tickets for the March 26th show from Monday, October 31st at 10 am ET through Thursday, November 3rd at 10 pm ET via Citi Entertainment. Tickets will be available for purchase by the general public beginning on Friday, November 4th at 10 am ET via Ticketmaster. Due to congestion during the on-sale, it can be difficult to purchase tickets right away. Please continue to check Ticketmaster as tickets will be available throughout the day.

In December 2013, Joel was named Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise, joining the ranks of the storied venue’s other original franchises – the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. The record-breaking residency began in January 2014 with Joel playing one show every month at The Garden, “as long as the demand continues,” says Joel.

Additional Billy Joel MSG residency shows include the 85th concert on November 23rd, 86th on December 19th, 87th on January 13, 2023 and 88th set for Valentine’s Day. The November, December and January shows are sold out.

In November, Joel will headline night one of the two-night ATLive Powered by Ticketmaster on Friday, November 11th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Friday’s lineup also includes Lionel Richie and Sheryl Crow while Chris Stapleton will headline country night on Saturday, November 12th with performances by Miranda Lambert and Dwight Yoakam.

This December, Joel will also head Down Under for his first concert in Melbourne, Australia in 14 years. Joel’s exclusive One Night Only In Australia concert at Melbourne’s iconic MCG will be held December 10th and has sold out 71,000 tickets.

In celebration of 50 years of Billy Joel, one of the most iconic concert films of all time, Live At Yankee Stadium, played in cinemas earlier this month for a special two-night global fan event. Shot live on 16mm color film on June 22 and 23, 1990, at the iconic Bronx stadium, the original concert has been re-edited in stunning 4K with Dolby ATMOS audio and newly mixed from the original multi-track tapes by Jay Vicari and overseen by Joel’s long time sound engineer Brian Ruggle.

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will release Billy Joel Live at Yankee Stadium digitally as well as a 2 CD/Blu-ray combo and 3 LP sets on November 4th. The new editions contain 22 performances from Joel’s historic two-day run at The House That Ruth Built and features 11 completely unreleased performances, including “Uptown Girl,” “Only The Good Die Young,” “Allentown” and more.

Next summer, he’ll make his only 2023 European appearance as headliner of American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Friday, July 7th.
