Billy Ray Cyrus announces hip hop version of ‘Achy Breaky’

The track is currently in production

If country music hasn’t been twisted enough lately, Larry King dropped a bombshell on New Year’s Eve that the world could probably do without! He revealed that country crooner, and Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus has recorded a hip hop version of his 1992 breakthrough smash, “Achy Breaky Heart.”

The TV host tweeted that he and Cyrus are excited about the upcoming single.

Other reports indicate that the single is indeed happening and that a video will be shot in Los Angeles before the end of the month. Casting directors are currently searching for a video vixen to star.

The original version reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs in the US while it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the US.

Billy Ray and family have created a YouTube channel called Seriously Cyrus that gives fans a sneak peak into the busy lives of the Cyrus clan. Feel free to watch at your own discretion.

I guess Cyrus is taking advantage of the new trends in music, or perhaps he is searching for a comeback hot on the heels of Miley’s breakout year! Either way, we’ll post more information, and the video, when it’s available. In the meantime, enjoy the original video, mullet and all!
