Black Eyed Peas drop ‘Monkey Business (20th Anniversary Edition)’

The group receives RIAA plaques in recognition of staggering sales milestones

Celebrating yet another milestone, six-time Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum Los Angeles-based pop-rap group Black Eyed Peas release the new 20th Anniversary Edition of their classic fourth full-length LP, Monkey Business, in honor of the album’s 20th anniversary. The 20th Anniversary Edition notably collects all the album’s remixes including “Don’t Phunk With My Heart (Chicago House Remix Version),” and “Don’t Lie (Beets & Produce, NY Mix Version),” plus unreleased tracks such as “Bend Your Back,” “Shake Your Monkey” and “Make Them Hear You.” Monkey Business is also available on Ruby Red vinyl.

Two decades ago, the pioneering collective first unveiled Monkey Business on June 7, 2005. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, marking their first Top 10 entry on the respective chart. Out of five Grammy Award nominations, Black Eyed Peas received Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “Don’t Phunk With My Heart” in 2006 and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “My Humps” in 2007.

UMe celebrated the multi-Platinum success of the world-renowned The Black Eyed Peas, with a special RIAA plaque presentation at FYI Studios in Hollywood. Known for their genre-defying fusion of pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, high-energy performances, and chart-topping global anthems, the group continues to redefine the sound of a generation.

Among these awards, the 2009 epic The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) has notched a six-times platinum certification, also scoring a 15-times platinum certification for “I Gotta Feeling,” a diamond for “Boom Boom Pow,” a six-times platinum certification for “Imma Be,” and a five-times platinum certification for “Meet Me Halfway.” Meanwhile, Monkey Business recently garnered a five-time platinum certification with “My Humps” going five-time platinum, “Pump It” going four-time platinum and “Don’t Phunk With My Heart” now double platinum. Finally, 2003’s Elephunk has picked up a four-time platinum certification with “Where Is the Love?” certified five-time platinum, “Let’s Get It Started” certified four-time platinum, and “Hey Mama” certified platinum.

Black Eyed Peas have now eclipsed global sales of 65 million-plus, making them one of the best-selling acts in history.

Throughout 2025, the group have also commemorated their 30th anniversary with a series of limited-edition physical reissues. The new vinyl versions of Behind The Front, Elephunk, Monkey Business, and The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) are available now.
