Born Pink will be released on Sept 16th

Blackpink has announced their second album, Born Pink, will release on Friday, September 16th via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records. The group shared the news via social media following last week’s visual teaser of “Pink Venom,” the first single to be issued on August 19th.

The group’s long-awaited return was announced earlier this summer in an official statement from YG Entertainment noting the upcoming new music would kick off “a continuous large-scale project [that] extends through the second half of the year.” On Tuesday (Aug 9th), the group unveiled its 2022/2023 world tour, set to kick off on October 15th in Seoul, South Korea. Additional information on the tour will be available in early September.

Prior to the release of their first full album The Album in 2020, Blackpink gained steady popularity with their pre-release single “How You Like That” and their special collaboration with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream.” Despite the restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic, the K-pop superstars drew a record-breaking explosive response from global fans with only their music. The Album catapulted to No. 2 on both the US Billboard 200 and UK Official Chart. The set featured standout track “Lovesick Girls,” which sold over 1.4 million copies worldwide, making Blackpink the first K-pop girl group to sell over a million units.
