The new film was announced during a conversation with Director Sue Kim
At its inaugural content showcase, Sony Music Vision presented the companyโs diverse and compelling slate of film and television projects. Throughout the event, attendees were treated to exciting previews of highly anticipated releasesโincluding films about Barbra Streisand, Lisa, Oasis, and Elvisโand heard from additional award-winning filmmakers Frank Marshall, Sue Kim, Steven Knight and Baz Luhrmann as they discussed their upcoming documentaries.
Exclusively announced at the event was the start of production on the documentary following world-renowned rapper, singer, dancer, actress and style icon, Lisa, in partnership with LLOUD CO./RCA Records and Tremolo Productions. The film will follow one year in the life of the multi-hyphenate artist, as she takes time away from the most successful girl group in K-pop history to pursue her own solo journey. Lisa has already had a very busy 2025, releasing her debut solo album, Alter Ego, via LLOUD CO./RCA Records, which charted No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart and in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Additionally, she starred in the HBO Original series, The White Lotus, and made her solo debut at Coachella.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Sue Kim, the untitled project will give fans exclusive access to Lisa with an in-depth look at the artistโs groundbreaking career and creative vision outside of the world-renowned group, Blackpink. Most recently, Kim directed A24โs award-winning documentary, The Last of the Sea Women, which premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and won multiple Criticsโ Choice Awards and was an Executive Producer on the docuseries K-Pop Idols, both for Apple TV+. Her debut documentary short for Netflix, The Speed Cubers, was nominated for Critics Choice and Peabody awards, as well as shortlisted for an Academy Award.

Additionally, Luhrmann revealed footage from his upcoming project EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert. Combing through countless never-before-seen performances, unheard interview recordings and restored rarities, the acclaimed filmmaker has been developing the feature documentary alongside his longtime Academy Award-nominated editor, Jonathan Redmond, since production on his 2022 hit film Elvis. Woven together with Luhrmannโs uniquely electric style, EPiC offers audiences Elvis singing and telling his own story as weโve never seen or heard him before.
