Ridiculous 6 is the first film for the country superstar
After hosting Saturday Night Live! this week, Blake Shelton will add feature film to his acting resume as he has been cast in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy flick, Ridiculous 6.
The film, the first in a deal Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions has struck with Netflix, puts a comedic spin on ensemble westerns like The Magnificent Seven.
The Wrap reports that the country superstar and The Voice coach will star alongside Sandler, Taylor Lautner, three-time Oscar nominee Nick Nolte and comedian Whitney Cummings, as well as Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice.
Sources also claim that Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, Saturday Night Live! alum Chris Parnell and Breaking Bad’s Lavell Crawford are expected to be added to the cast.
Netflix declined to comment on the casting, but confirmed the film will begin production in February. Sandler co-wrote the script with frequent collaborator Tim Herlihy. No word on when the film will be released.
