Blake Shelton to host and perform on ‘Saturday Night Live’ Jan 24th

Shelton is only the fifth country star to host the weekly series

Blake Shelton is set to perform double duty when he hosts and performs as the musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live for the first time on January 24th.

The country crooner and four-time winner of The Voice will take his comedic abilities further when he makes his debut appearance on the popular late-night sketch comedy show.

This isn’t the first time Shelton has hosted a show or has proven his comedic talents. He’s co-hosted the ACM Awards numerous times with Reba McEntire and Luke Bryan, and even starred in his own Christmas comedy special, Blake Shelton’s No So Family Christmas, on NBC in 2012.

Shelton joins Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson as the only country stars to host the series in its 40 seasons on air. In 2012, a Facebook movement was created to get Shelton to host the show with wife Miranda Lambert as musical guest.
