‘Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration’ to air on AXS TV

AXS TV is proud to present the broadcast of the iconic concert special Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebrationย on Sunday, June 26th at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT. The event will air as part of AXS TVโ€™s โ€œPioneers of Rockโ€ marathon, which starts at 12:30 pm ET and features six legendary performances from some of musicโ€™s biggest names.

Filmed live at Madison Square Garden, Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration brings an eclectic blend of industry legends together, as they honor the icon that inspired them allโ€”the inimitable Bob Dylanโ€”on the 30th anniversary of his first recording. Filling in as the house band for the festivities is an all-star lineup featuring Booker T. Jones on organ; Donald โ€œDuckโ€ Dunn on bass; and Anton Fig and Jim Keltner on drums, Steve Cropper on guitar, with fan-favorite Saturday Night Liveย bandleader G.E. Smith serving as musical director.

Highlights of the evening include powerful renditions of some of Dylanโ€™s most enduring songs, including โ€œLike A Rolling Stoneโ€ by John Mellencamp; โ€œBlowinโ€™ In The Windโ€ by Stevie Wonder; โ€œFoot Of Prideโ€ by Lou Reed; โ€œMasters Of Warโ€ by Pearl Jam founders Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready; โ€œIt Ainโ€™t Me Babeโ€ by June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash; โ€œWhat Was It You Wanted?โ€ by Willie Nelson; โ€œAll Along The Watchtowerโ€ by Neil Young; โ€œDonโ€™t Think Twice, Itโ€™s All Rightโ€ by Eric Clapton; โ€œEmotionally Yoursโ€ by The Oโ€™Jays; โ€œAbsolutely Sweet Marieโ€ by George Harrison; โ€œRainy Day Women #12 & 35โ€ by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers; and many more. The man of honor closes out the concert with a four-song set, performing โ€œItโ€™s Alright, Ma (Iโ€™m Only Bleeding)โ€ and โ€œGirl From The North Country,โ€ and teaming up with the nightโ€™s guests on โ€œMy Back Pagesโ€ and โ€œKnockinโ€™ On Heavenโ€™s Door.โ€

In addition, AXS TVโ€™s โ€œPioneers of Rockโ€ marathon puts the spotlight on some of the decadeโ€™s most beloved bands, with a roster of documentaries and concert films featuring surf rock pioneers The Beach Boys in the acclaimed 2012 documentary The Beach Boys – Doin’ It Againย (12:30 pm), followed by The Beach Boys 50 – Live In Concertย (2:30 pm), Ringo Starr: A Lifetime of Peace And Loveย (2:45 pm), Crosby, Stills & Nash 2012ย (3:55 pm), and Led Zeppelin: Celebration Dayย (5:40 pm), leading up to the premiere of Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration (8 pm),.
