Former Husker Du frontman Bob Mould is set to release Beauty & Ruin, his 11th solo album, on June 3rd via Merge Records. Described as “a compact epic,” Beauty & Ruin packs a staggering lifetime’s worth of emotion and experience into a 36-minute package sure to be hailed as a landmark addition to Mould’s formidable body of work.
As with his previous effort, 2012’s Silver Age, Mould will be joined by his stalwart band consisting of bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster, who will also be backing Mould at this year’s SXSW as he debuts Beauty & Ruin material at the March 13th Merge showcase at the Parish and the March 14th AV Club day party.
Mould wraps up his “25 Years of Workbook” mini tour tonight (Mar 7th) and tomorrow (Mar 8th) with two final sold out shows at New York’s City Winery, both featuring Narducy and cellist Alison Chesley.
Mould made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman Thursday night (March 6th) where he performed “See A Little Light” from the 25th Anniversary reissue of his heralded debut solo album, Workbook 25.
