Bon Jovi, Metallica, The Beatles, Green Day, Husker Du and many more will release exclusive vinyl LPs to indie record stores on November 28th for Record Store Day (RSD) Back To Black Friday 2014.
Among the RSD Exclusive Releases is the second of the Bon Jovi Live Picture Disc series featuring four rare live tracks from the New Jersey World Tour. They are: “I’ll Be There For You (Live in Lakeland)”, “Lay Your Hands On Me (Live at Giants Stadium)”, “Bad Medicine (Live at Wembley)” and “Runaway (Live in Paris).”
Also, The Beatles are reissuing “Long Tall Sally” EP on 7″ vinyl in very limited quantities for the event. The four track EP will also be released in mono, like the Fab Four’s most recent reissues. Tracks include: “Long Tall Sally,” “I Call Your Name,” “Slow Down” and “Matchbox”
As previously reported, Metallica will issue the “Lords Of Summer” on limited edition 12″ vinyl that includes “First Pass” (studio) version on side A as well as a live version recorded at the Rock In Rome Sonisphere Festival on July 1, 2014. Side B will feature a laser etching of “M” logo.
The Velvet Underground will also reissue its 1993 live record, LiveMCMXCIII, for the first time on vinyl. Recorded during a short-lived reunion tour during a three-night residence in the Parisian venue L’Olympia on June 15th, 16th and 17th, 1993. John Cale later said, “During the second night we hit the home run,” and it is of this night that most of the Live MCMXCIII tracks were taken with the rest were taken from the third night.
Fans of the film Disney film Frozen will want to pick up the collectible holiday vinyl 7″ Picture Disc with fan favorites “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” and “In Summer” from the #1 animated film of all time.
The Big Lewboski soundtrack will also see a vinyl release for the first time. It will be issued on cream colored vinyl exclusive to indie record stores.
Other RSD Exclusives include Green Day Live In Tokyo on 12″ blue vinyl; Genesis From Genesis To Revelation available on vinyl for the first time since its 1974 release featuring the original lineup of Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips and Peter Gabriel; Husker Du Warehouse: Songs and Stories reissue of the trio’s 1987 sixth and final studio album on neon green and neon yellow vinyl as well as Waylon Jennings Louisiana Man, Kentucky Woman on white 7″ vinyl consisting of three previously unreleased 1970 recordings from Jennings and many more.
