Limited edition translucent red 180-gram vinyl available Nov 8th

The Sound of Vinyl is releasing a limited edition pressing of Bon Jovi’s massive Slippery When Wet on red translucent vinyl. The 180-gram disc is $29.98 and will start shipping on Thursday, November 8th.

Released in 1986, Slippery When Wet presented a streamlined combination of pop, hard rock, and metal that appealed to everyone. It became the best-selling album of 1987, beating out contenders like Guns N Roses’ Appetite for Destruction, U2’s The Joshua Tree, and Michael Jackson’s Bad. “It’s alright if you have a good time,” Jon Bon Jovi sang on the first track, “Let It Rock,” and those words served as a mantra for the entire hair metal genre, whose carefree, party-heavy attitude became the soundtrack for the rest of the 1980s.

The album contains the smashes “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” “You Give Love A Bad Name” and “Livin’ On A Prayer.” Slippery was the band’s third album and breakthrough after re-inventing themselves following their “Runaway” smash debut in 1984. The band’s followup, 1985’s 7800° Fahrenheit, was much less received than expected, achieving only one minor hit with “In And Out Of Love.”

Last week, Bon Jovi announced the This House Is Not For Sale Tour European trek for spring and summer 2019. The tour kicks off May 31st in Moscow and concludes July 21st in Bucharest, Romania. Stops include Stockholm, Sweden; Liverpool, UK; London, UK; Munich, Germany; Madrid, Spain; Zurich, Switzerland; and more. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now.
