This is Brett Young’s year. His first single, “Sleep Without You,” topped the charts and was certified gold ahead of his self-titled debut album release in February. Now, just a few months later, Young has landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart with “In Case You Didn’t Know,” which has sold over one million units.
“As a songwriter, the ultimate reward when you write a song is that it impacts someone’s life,” expresses Young. “Maybe one of our biggest inspirations and challenges, but when it happens, it is simply the most fantastic feeling.”
Co-written alongside Tyler Reeve, Kyle Schlienger and Trent Tomlinson, “In Case You Didn’t Know” is the only country song released this year to be platinum-certified. This is a huge accomplishment for “country’s next star” (The Washington Post) who continues to make history and win over fans and critics.
With over 51 million Vevo views, the music video is nominated for a CMT Music Award for 2017 Breakthrough Video of the Year. Fans voting is now open.
Young kicked off the first show of Lady Antebellum’s You Look Good World Tour 2017 this past weekend in Bakersfield, CA (Read our review). He is opening on 45 + dates throughout the fall across the US and UK. He can also be seen at multiple festivals and headline dates, including CMA Music Fest in Nashville on June 10th on Chevrolet Riverfront Stage and June 11th at HGTV Lodge.
