The pair will celebrate 1968 and beyond

Brian Wilson and The Zombies are teaming up for a summer tour of the U.S. celebrating their tunes from 1968 and beyond. The Something Great from ’68 Tour launches August 31st at The Joint @ The Hard Rock in Las Vegas and wraps September 26th at The Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Wilson’s set list will contain mostly songs from his two favorite Beach Boys albums, 1968’s Friends and 1971’s Surf’s Up, while also scattering the setlist with rarities and classics. Wilson will be joined by former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin.

“It’s been quite a year and I’m ready to go out and tour some music that makes everyone have a feel good vibe,” says Wilson in a statement. “The Friends album has always been one of my favorites, and I love the music from that time in history.”

The Zombies will perform all of their 1968 Odessey and Oracle album on the trek, alongside other selections from their storied career. The shows will reunite Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone with fellow co-founders Chris White and Hugh Grundy. They will perform alongside the current iteration of the Zombies. However, White and Grundy will not perform during the first two shows of the tour.
