Record Store Day has announced the titles set for exclusive release on Record Store Day 2015, Saturday, April 18th. Among the artists on the massive list include 311, Adam and the Ants, Bruce Springsteen, Cassandra Wilson, Citizen Dick, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Manic Street Preachers, Simon & Garfunkel, the World Wrestling Federation, U2, Jeff Beck, David Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Queen’s Brian May, Brian Wilson and many more.
Now in its eighth year, Record Store Day is an annual day-long celebration of record store culture held on the third Saturday in April. RSD has named Dave Grohl Record Store Day Ambassador 2015.

311 – “Grifters” c/w “Who’s Got the Herb” – 7″ White Vinyl
This 7″ white vinyl single debuts two previously unreleased versions of songs much beloved by fans of 311. “Grifter” was originally recorded during the Omaha rock band’s 1997 Transistor sessions. “Who’s Got The Herb,” 311’s interpretation of a song first recorded by Bad Brains frontman H.R., comes from 2001’s From Chaos sessions. Both tracks will appear on the forthcoming 311 Legacy box set, slated for release in summer 2015.
Jeff Beck – “Tallyman”/”Rock My Pimsoul”, “Hi Ho Silver Lining”/”Beck’s Bolero”, “Love Is Blue”/”I’ve Been Drinking” 7” Colored Vinyl
Jeff Beck will reissue his first three solo singles individually on 7” colored vinyl. Each one is a reproduction of its U.S. edition on Epic Records with the latter making its U.S. debut on the format. New picture sleeves with rare photos and notes by Gene Simmons. Features the original mono mixes, mastered from the original reels. “Tallyman”/”Rock My Pinsoul” is pressed on gold wax, “Hi Ho Silver Lining”/”Beck’s Bolero” is pressed on red vinyl” and “Love Is Blue”/”I’ve Been Drinking” is pressed on blue vinyl. Jimmy Page, Keith Moon and others are featured throughout the recordings.
David Bowie – “Changes” 7” Picture Disc, “Kingdom Come” 7” Colored Vinyl
As a continuation of 40th anniversary Picture Disc series, Bowie will release “Changes” with the previously unreleased AA side “Eight Line Poem” on 7” Picture Disc. “Eight Line Poem” was recorded in 1971 for a small run of promo LPs made secure Bowie a record deal. Often referred to by Bowie aficionados as the “GEM promo” named after Gem Records, the small independent label that pressed the album, is making its official release debut for RSD 2015 as a limited run RSD exclusive.
Bowie is also being featured on Rhino’s Side By Side Series with Tom Verlaine for their track “Kingdom Come” where both perform the same song. The single will be pressed on 7” 45 RPM transparent red inside opaque black color in color.
Johnny Cash – Koncert V Praze (In Prague- Live) – 12″ Red Translucent 180 Gram Vinyl
Johnny Cash, America’s legendary Man in Black, playing his greatest hits and personal favorite songs behind the Iron Curtain Czechoslovakia in 1978. This limited edition heavyweight 12″ LP is pressed on 180 gram Soviet Red vinyl to commemorate this historic performance.
Foo Fighters – Songs From The Laundry Room 10” Vinyl
Foo Fighters will issue a limited edition 10” vinyl featuring the demo of “Alone + Easy Target” and “Big Me” as well as “Kids In America” cover and the unreleased track “Empty Handed”.
Jimi Hendrix – “Purple Haze” c/w “Freedom” – 7″ Vinyl
This double A side single–mixed by Jimi Hendrix’s long-term sound engineer Eddie Kramer–features two electrifying tracks recorded live at the Atlanta Pop Festival at Middle Georgia Raceway in Byron, Georgia, on July 4, 1970 before the largest US audience (estimated between 300,000 – 400,000) of the guitarist’s career. This RSD 2015 release is an incredible sonic document from Hendrix’s Cry of Love tour.
Robert Plant – More Roar 10” Vinyl
Robert Plant will issue three tracks recorded live during Robert Plant & the Sensational Time Shifters World Tour 2014 as More Roar on 10” vinyl. Tracks include “Turn It Up,” “Poor Howard” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” The album will be limited to 10,000 copies.
Simon & Garfunkel – “Homeward Bound”/”Leaves That Are Green” – 7″ Vinyl
This collectible 7″ 45 rpm vinyl releases recreates the original 1966 “Homeward Bound” single, pairing two essential Simon & Garfunkel cuts from that year: “Homeward Bound” (from Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme) and “Leaves That Are Green” (from Sounds of Silence). A Top 5 single in the US, “Homeward Bound” became a worldwide phenomenon reaching #4 in the Netherlands and #9 in the UK while going Top 20 in Australia and Sweden (where it hit #12). The cover for this RSD 2015 release is based on the German single artwork.
Bruce Springsteen – The Album Collection Vol. 1 1973-1984 – seven individual 12″ Vinyl Titles
Available individually for RSD 2015, newly remastered 12″ vinyl editions of the first seven albums recorded and released by Bruce Springsteen for Columbia Records between 1973 and 1984. Recently transferred from the original analogue masters and remastered for release by Bob Ludwig, working with Springsteen and longtime engineer Toby Scott, these essential Springsteen album titles include: Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J. (1973), The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle (1973), Born To Run (1975), Darkness On The Edge Of Town (1978), The River (1980), Nebraska (1982) and Born In The U.S.A. (1984).
U2 – Songs Of Innoncence: Deluxe Edition (2 LP)
U2 will reissue the Deluxe Edition of their latest effort, 2014’s Songs Of Innocence, on 2 12” vinyl. Each set will be individually numbered and will feature a white, dye-cut gatefold center hole vinyl sleeve on front and back covers. Only 6,000 will be made.
Various Artists – The Wrestling Album/Piledriver: The Wrestling Album 2 – 12″ 2LP Red/Yellow Colored Vinyl
This RSD 2015 release brings The Wrestling Album and Piledriver: The Wrestling Album 2 together as a 2LP collection, in a handsome spiral-bound jacket, celebrating a golden era in American pro wrestling mania. Originally released by the World Wrestling Federation in 1985, The Wrestling Album features tracks produced by Rick Derringer, David Wolff, Jim Steinman (Bat Out of Hell) and “Mona Flambé” (Cyndi Lauper, who contributes backing vocals on “Real American”); the album is comprised of theme music for wrestlers on the WWF (now the WWE) roster at the time. The 1987 follow-up, Piledriver: The Wrestling Album 2 showcases vocal performances from the wrestlers themselves, including “Stand Back” by Vince McMahon and “If You Only Knew” by The WWF Superstars.
Brian Wilson – “The Right Time”/”Sail Away” 7” Vinyl
Brian Wilson will release a pair of tracks on 7” vinyl from his new album, No Pier Pressure. “The Right Time” and “Sail Away” will be featured as a limited run for RSD.
