K-pop group successfully wraps latest livestream

BTS has announced the single CD for its latest chart topper, “Butter,” for July 9th, the same day when the BTS ARMY was founded. The disc will also feature a new track, which details are forthcoming. The limited edition CD box set will be available in two versions: Peaches or Cream, and will be distributed at random when ordered through Amazon.

Each box will contain a poster, photo book, two lyrics cards, instant photo card, graphic sticker, one of eight randomly inserted photo cards, one of seven randomly inserted folded message cards and a photo stand.

All sales count towards the Korean Hanteo and Gaon charts, not the Billboard charts.

“Butter” is in its third week atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s been in that position since it debuted at No. 1 the week of June 2nd, marking their fourth chart-topping single in less than a year. This makes them the first group to have a trio of No. 1 entrances as well as the fastest group to run their first four No. 1 singles since the Jackson 5 in 1970.

The track became the most streamed song in a single day in Spotify’s history, amassing 20.9 million global streams on the first day. The accompanying music video also set a new all time 24 hour record of 108.2 million views and the biggest music video Premiere on YouTube with 3.9 million peak concurrents.

The K-pop superstars made the announcement during their BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo fan meet livestream that amassed 1.33 million viewers from 195 countries/regions across two days. The event saw the band perform 15 songs on an outdoor eight-shaped stage in celebration of its eighth anniversary and the infinity sign.

The stream enabled viewers to choose and watch from six different screens with the venue installing a big screen below the stage that showed BTS ARMY members from all over the world enjoying the show. Pre-recordings of cheers by ARMY were also played alongside with the “Dis-ease,” “FIRE,” and “So What” stages.

“We had so much fun today. I can’t wait for that day when we can all breathe the same air in the same space. We hope the situation gets better as soon as possible so we can meet each other. Until that day, I hope you all stay strong,” they shared during the event. “The light shines brighter in the dark. Please remember that you and we look for each other, shining light upon one another.”

The group swept the three categories they were nominated in last month’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. The K-pop stars won three socially voted categories they were nominated: “Best Fan Army” for BTSARMY, Best Music Video for “Dynamite” and “Favorite Music Video Choreography” for “Dynamite.” They also swept all four Billboard Music Awards categories they were nominated, including Top Group/Duo, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Selling Song for “Dynamite,” and the fan voted Top Social Artist for the fifth year.

The group has released CONNECT BTS, E-BOOK and CONNECT, BTS FONT that celebrate the first anniversary of the closure of the CONNECT, BTS, an art exhibit that connected 22 contemporary artists across five contents. Both are available free online through April 30th with a limited amount of physical copies to be printed and distributed to galleries, artists, and curators who participated in the project.
