BTS will kick off their activities as ambassadors for World Expo 2030 Busan, Korea.

“We will make extra efforts to not only support the bid, but also promote the beautiful nature and culture of the Republic of Korea worldwide,” the K-pop superstars shared in a ceremony last month.

Further information about BTS in Busan will be shared in time.

BTS will also be the subject of two specials streaming on Disney+ in a new partnership the Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific and Hybe have signed. BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA is an exclusive cinematic 4K concert film features BTS’ live performance in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in November 2021. BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star is an original docu-series that follows the incredible journey of the K-pop superstars with unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage.

In June, the group released Proof, a three disc anthology album that celebrates the nine years of BTS’ journey since their debut, and opens a new chapter upon their tenth year as artists. The project, available in multiple configurations, contains new tracks, members’ selections, demo versions, unreleased tracks and more.

Its members also announced they would pursue solo projects while “remaining active as a group.” On June 14th, the superstars released a new BTS Dinner Party video to celebrate their ninth anniversary when Suga commented the band was going on “hiatus,” causing a frenzy on social media and sending Hybe’s stock plummeting by $1.7 billion overnight. The next day, Big Hit Entertainment, clarified that the statement was mistranslated into English when subtitled in the video.

Last month saw the first solo release with J-Hope’s Jack in the Box. The album is comprised of ten tracks with “More” and “Arson” acting as the album’s two main tracks.
