A special music video has also been released
BTS member Jin has dropped the full version of “Super Tuna,” an extended rendition of the original track released in 2021.
The release follows Jin’s performance of the track at 2024 BTS Festas, which took place earlier in June in celebration of BTS’ debut anniversary. He made his first official appearance after completing his mandatory military obligations and performed the full version, unveiling the second verse for the first time. At the event, Army (BTS’ fandom) responded with palpable excitement, expressing their joy at the introduction of a new verse which added a new flair and freshness to the beloved track.
The full version, released as a gesture of gratitude for the Army’s unwavering support, further enriches the listening experience by capturing Jin’s lively spirit in greater depth and inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the upbeat energy.
The accompanying special video released on BTS’ official YouTube channel sets a relaxed yet upbeat mood against a backdrop of serene blue waters. Jin lounges on a beach chair, playing music from a cassette tape that breaks the silence with the catchy, vibrant track. His yellow shirt printed with palm trees and straw hat enhances the lighthearted theme, complemented by humorous edits featuring tuna and various text elements.
Meanwhile, the performance video titled “Jin of BTS Super Tuna Special Performance Video,” the first version of the track revealed in December 2021, recently surpassed 100 million views on YouTube as of October 2nd. The earlier version of the single, released in October 2022, topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales and Digital Song Sales charts and remained on the Hot Trending Songs chart for 45 consecutive weeks. Shortly after the 2024 Festa, the track also reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, dated June 22nd.
