Album drops Dec 2nd
RM of 21st century pop icons BTS has revealed photos and the track listing for his first official solo album Indigo. The set drops on CD and digitally on December 2nd via BigHit Entertainment.
On November 24th, RM uploaded five photos on his Instagram dressed in denim and white in a warm and natural setting with sunlight and wooden furniture, showing his true character and taste for natural things. The painting shown in the photos is an artwork called Blue by Korean painter late Yun Hyong-keun, whom RM admires a lot. Through Indigo, RM formed a special collaboration, transcending boundaries between music and art.
The pop star has also shared the track listing via Instagram. The album is comprised of 10 tracks with appearances by Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak and others. The lead single “Wild Flower (with Youjeen)” sings about RM’s desire to live like humble and tranquil wildflowers rather than a flamboyant flame that quickly blows out.
The project was produced by Pdogg, Honne, eAeon, John Eun, and Docskim. Indigo recounts the stories and experiences RM has gone through in his 20s.
Indigo follows 2015’s self-titled project and 2018’s Mono (Mixtape) which debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart.
RM is the third member of the global band to release solo music in the past few months. J-Hope released Jack in the Box earlier this summer featuring “More” and “Arson” while Jin released “The Astronaut” last month with Coldplay.
The band is currently on hiatus as each member fulfills their mandatory military service commitment to South Korea. Each will serve accordingly and release solo material before the global superstars are expected to reconvene in 2025.
