African giant to make history at Citi Field

Grammy Award-winning global superstar Burna Boy makes triumphant return with “Sittin’ On Top Of The World.” Produced by Skread, the single features a sample of Brandy’s 1998 hit “Top Of the World” featuring Mase. The new track shows Burna’s romantic side — addressing how he likes to shower his special lady with the finer things, singing: “When you mine you get anything you want.” Not to be boxed into the “global music” category, the song’s composition naturally brings in old-school hip hop and r&b nostalgia, infused with Burna’s anthemic pop sensibilities. The end result sees the megastar broadening his signature sound to embrace the classic 90’s sample, while maintaining his genre-defining Afro-fusion roots.

“Sittin’ On Top Of The World” is the song of the summer follow-up to Burna Boy’s RIAA certified platinum single, “Last Last.” The global smash hit was nominated for an 65th Annual Grammy Award, and landed No. 1 at urban radio and became the fastest Afrobeats song to be certified gold and platinum in the US.

The new song arrives on the heels of the announcement of yet another historic milestone in the US. Produced by Live Nation, the African Giant will be bringing his music to Citi Field in New York City on July 8th, making him the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium in the US.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy made explosive appearances at Coachella, Dreamville Music Festival, Afro Nation Miami, the 2023 NBA All-Star Game halftime show, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Vol. 4 show and an incredible sold out headline stop in front of 40,000 fans in Paris. Burna is now set to perform a sold out show at London’s London Stadium on June 3rd and co-headline the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show on June 10th.

Burna Boy continues to reach new heights with his sixth studio album Love, Damini, marking his highest US debut to date on the Billboard Top 200, topping the Billboard U.S Afrobeats Songs chart for eight weeks and continuing to climb at rhythm radio. The album also continues to grow internationally as it finished at No. 2 in the UK and Netherlands, becoming his highest charting album in those territories, and the No. 1 album on Apple Music in 47 countries.
