The iconic musician was rushed to a hospital due to dehydration
Latin rock guitarist Carlos Santana has postponed tonight’s (Tues, Apr 22nd) show at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio after collapsing during soundcheck. The guitar legend was taken to a nearby hospital this afternoon after suffering from dehydration.
“Santana is postponing his Oneness Tour 2025 show at the Majestic Theatre tonight (Tuesday, April 22, 2025) in San Antonio, Texas. He has been taken in for observation in San Antonio,” manager Michael Vrionis says in a statement. “It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed. Mr. Santana was at the venue (Majestic Theatre) preparing for tonight’s show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action. He is doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour. Thank you all very much for your understanding. The show will be rescheduled soon.” Please hang onto your tickets – we will advise on the rescheduled show date as soon as possible.”
Social media videos show Santana waving the small crowd gathered outside the venue as he was wheeled away on a gurney.
Santana is currently on his global 2025 Oneness Tour. His next scheduled performances are in Sugar Land, Texas tomorrow (Wed, Apr 23rd), followed by shows in Oklahoma on Friday and Saturday. At this time, there has been no announcement regarding the status of these upcoming concerts.
This is not the first time the 77-year-old musician has had to postpone shows due to health concerns. In January 2025, he postponed his Las Vegas residency after breaking a finger in a fall. In July 2022, he also collapsed on stage during a concert in Michigan due to dehydration and heat exhaustion. In 2021, he underwent an unscheduled heart procedure, which also led to canceled performances.
