Carly Pearce, Lee Brice ‘Happy Now’ embraces Top 5

Pair’s duet nears the No 1 spot at country radio

When Carly Pearce pours out her heart, you feel it. Her chart-topping, platinum-certified debut “Every Little Thing” soared as audiences recounted their own pain. Now on the other side, Pearce once again offers an equally aching realness with “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” a song she wrote alongside Luke Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana. The gold-certified duet with Lee Brice has amassed over 183 million global streams and this week lands in the Top 5 at country radio in the US and No. 1 in Canada. ABC News Radio expressed they, “reinvent the classic country male/female duet” while Rolling Stone Country noted, “The combination of their voices was electric, shot through with pain, and the title of the song took on a different meaning from each of their mouths — empathetic in Pearce’s case, bitter when Brice sang it.”

At a time when the world is going through a heartbreak of its own, Pearce empathizes with a hopeful new video for “It Won’t Always Be Like This (The Social Distance Sessions).” With the premiere, Good Morning America mused, “Carly Pearce’s new music video is soothing all of our souls right now.” This Thursday (May 28th), she will host a YouTube chat leading up to the release of “You Kissed Me First (The Social Distance Sessions)” at 1 pm ET.

On Friday (May 29th), Pearce will participate in the Stronger Than You Think livestream, which airs from 2 to 7 pm PDT daily across multiple digital platforms – YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and TikTok – with the official hashtag #STYT. The program brings a great conclusion to Mental Health Awareness Month and combines candid conversations with celebrities, musical performances and advice from mental health professionals to help erase the stigma for teens and young adults. The initiative was developed by the creators of the Teen Choice Awards, along with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s leading grassroots organization providing mental health support, advocacy, and education for youth and everyone.

The weekend wraps with Circle Sessions as Pearce chats with country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Famer Bill Cody about life, music and memories of her nearly 75 beloved performances at the Grand Ole Opry. Tune in at 7:30 pm ET to Circle All Access YouTube and Facebook channels.
