“Don’t Do It In Texas” available now
MCA Nashville’s Catie Offerman releases her latest track, “Don’t Do It In Texas.” On the heels of Offerman’s debut track “Happyland Trailer Park,” which has 2.3 million streams to date, the New Braunfels, Texas-native wrote the heartfelt song with renowned songwriters Nicolle Galyon (Dierks Bentley’s “Gone,” Kelsea Ballerini’s “Homecoming Queen”) and Ryan Beaver (Blake Shelton’s “Body Language, Hardy’s “4×4”) during COVID in May 2020 via Zoom, while Offerman was in Texas. As a proud Texan, being home sparked the idea. “Don’t Do It In Texas” is produced by the award-winning Dann Huff.
“If you know me, you know Texas has a very special place in my heart. It’s everything I love, where my story began, and the place that holds so many special memories,” says Offerman. “I think everybody knows how a heartache hurts a little more when it steals a special place from you. This song puts me right back home. It may be Texas for me, but it can be anywhere for you.”
“This song was written almost exactly two years to the day that it’s being released – which is crazy to me,” adds Offerman. “But I think it must be a sign. It was such a weird time at the beginning of Covid, but being home back in Texas with my family made the ‘unknowns’ of what we were all going through feel a little sweeter. The song came sparked from a place of appreciating how special home is – but how quickly a heartbreak can steal such a sacred place away from you.”
Offerman will make her performance debut at this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville on Saturday, June 11th at 4:05 pm on the Maui Jim Reverb Stage. She will also return to her hometown of New Braunfels, Texas on July 1st and 2nd to open for reigning ACM New Male Artist of the Year, Parker McCollum.
Offerman inked her record deal with Universal Music Group in 2020.
