CBS airing Garth Brooks’ sold out Notre Dame concert

First-ever Notre Dame concert is October 20th

Garth Brooks will premiere his new primetime television special, Garth: Live At Notre Dame!, Sunday, December 2nd from 8-10 pm ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. The special will capture Brooks while he performs the first live concert ever held at the legendary Notre Dame Stadium, at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, on Saturday, October 20th.

“After the sellout, I thought it could not get any more exciting than this,” Brooks states. “Then, CBS calls and in an instant, the show becomes bigger. This changes everything.”

“We have an amazing history with Garth….we’ve partnered with him at some extraordinary venues: from the enormity of an aircraft carrier, to the intimacy of his one-man show in Las Vegas,” comments Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Music, Specials & Live Events. “Now, we are joining forces to bring viewers Garth at his best – a full blown stadium-sized event for television from renowned Notre Dame Stadium. Garth Brooks. Notre Dame. Two icons. One night. It will be a television event to remember.”

The show sold out the storied venue of approximately 85,000 within hours of tickets going on sale. The stadium show is the first of what is expected to be a stadium tour with an announcement of dates by year’s end.

Last month, Trisha’s Tailgate pre-show party was unveiled for the festivities. Guests will be able to enjoy seven of Yearwood’s recipes and her many drinks ranging from coffee to cocktails including her signature fall drink, Autumn in a Cup, made exclusively by Williams Sonoma. Her TY Home Collection will also be on display. The event runs from 2-5:30 pm ET on the Irish Green followed by Brooks’ sold out show at 7 pm. Tickets are $65 each via Event Bright and includes single entry to Trisha’s Tailgate, unlimited food and three drink tickets.

Late last year, Brooks wrapped his three year North American Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood having played 79 cities, 390 concerts, with over 100,000 tickets sold in over 20 cities. The tour sold over 6.3 million tickets, making it the biggest North American tour in history and the biggest American tour in the world.

On November 20th, Brooks will release The Anthology Part III, Live, written by Garth Brooks with Warren Zanes. It’s part three of Brooks’ massive five part anthology with Part II yet to be released. The hardbound book will contain more than 100 behind-the-scenes photos and 5 CDs, including his new fall release, Triple Live, and his 1998 Double Live project.
