CeeLo Green releases ‘For You’ video

Song is a fan favorite from latest album

GRAMMY Award winning CeeLo Green releases the new music video for the leading track “For You” from his latest album CeeLo Green is… Thomas Callaway, which was released this summer on June 26th. The music video creates a beautiful visual bringing this love song to life by featuring an older couple passionately singing into each other’s eyes and expressing their deep love and emotions for one another.

The ultimate love song, “For You” is one of Green’s favorite songs off the new album and was written by himself along with Roger Cook and Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys. CeeLo Green is… Thomas Callaway features the singles “Lead Me”, “Doing It All Together” and “People Watching” along with other lyrically positive tracks. This is Green’s first album in five years and it’s been dubbed to have an Afro-Americana sound with soulful vocals and traces of Nashville where the album was recorded.

CeeLo Green Is… Thomas Callaway was recorded in Nashville with a live band in studio, marking a first for the R&B superstar. Green exclusively tells us on The Music Universe Podcast that Auerbach arranged the live band to be a group of noteworthy Nashville musicians and songwriters including Dave Roe, who was Johnny Cash’s bass player and has performed with Dwight Yoakam and Cowboy Jack Clement; Bobby Wood, who’s recorded with Kris Kistrofferson, George Jones and Elvis Presley; Gene Crisman, who’s recorded with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Dusty Springfield; Russ Pahl, who’s played with Don Williams, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift.

Songwriters include Wood; Songwriters Hall of Famer Roger Cook, who has written generation defining hits like “You’ve Got Troubles”, “I’d Like To Teach The World to Sing”, “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress;” and Paul Overstreet, another Nashville legend who has pinned George Jones hit “Same Ole Me” and “Beautiful Boy” and hits for the likes of Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Blake Shelton, the Judds, Kenny Chesney.
