Trio moves to live shows of NBC series

Chapel Hart aced their America’s Got Talent audition Tuesday (July 19th), and now they’re heading straight to the live shows in Hollywood on NBC. Sisters Danica and Devynn Hart along with their cousin Trea Swindle received a Golden Buzzer from judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandell and host Terry Crews who said the trio is “really special, really special.”

The Mississippi country trio sang their original song, “You Can Have Him Jolene” when they received a standing ovation from the judges, crowd and host.

“Oh my god!” Cowell says following their performance. “Trust me, I needed you today. I mean, that was fantastic. I love you and I love the choreography going around you. It was just brilliant.”

“The energy in here is amazing,” Crews adds.

“We’ve been trying to break into Nashville for the last couple of years, but it’s been kinda hard when country music doesn’t always look like us,” Danica shares.

“You know what you gotta do sometimes? You just got to break down that down and you may have just broken down the door with that performance, trust me,” Cowell states.

“First of all, I believe you broke down the door. I love the song. I love the energy. I love the look. You say country music doesn’t look like you, that is your win because you are going to be the original,” Mandell states.

“Your joy is infectious, and everything that you’re giving is received over here. I loved it!” Klum says.

“Everything was perfect. The song. The energy. You guys look like you’ve been doing this for a long time and I’m so proud of you guys,” Vergara shares.

“Trust me, if I hadn’t used my Golden Buzzer, I would give you a Golden Buzzer,” Cowell tells them. “Me too,” Klum chimes.

“You can give it a try if you want,” remarks Swindell.

The audience chants “Golden Buzzer” when the judges and Crews begin to deliberate and ultimately decide to send them straight to the live shows. The ladies are shocked and break down in tears, receiving hugs on stage from each of the judges.

“Follow your dream. It doesn’t matter how crazy they are — how outlandish it is. If they say it’s not a real job, you just show them that it is,” Swindell tells Crews.

“There are little girls in Poplarville, Mississippi that think this isn’t possible, but we’re doing it, you know?” Devynn adds.

The trio premiered “You Can Have Him Jolene” with us during an exclusive performance on The Music Universe Podcast as part our Live From Nashville weeklong broadcast in November 2020. They released the song and video in March 2021.
