Born for This Moment will be released July 15th

Chicago has announced that their 38th studio album, Born for This Moment, will arrive on CD and 2 LP July 15th via BMG. The album follows the previously released single “If This is Goodbye,” now climbing the charts of radio with pre-orders receiving the new instant grat track “Firecracker.”

Featuring the signature sounds Chicago fans have come to love, Born for This Moment, produced by Joe Thomas, captures the true heart of this legendary band. Over the entire course of 14 vibrant new songs, Born for This Moment encapsulates the unique blend of award-winning and personal songwriting, multilayered harmonic vocalizations, and world-class arrangements that have been electrifying audiences across the globe for decades.

“I hope that, 55 years from now, listeners will actually feel something about our music and our lyrics. I mean, we’re all human. We all go through some variation of the same pain and joy at some point in our lives, and there’s a commonality to that. I hope listeners in the future will actually get all those feelings while listening to our music,” states founding bandmember Robert Lamm.

“One of the big reasons this album works so well is that when you put it on and play it, you hear something you’re not quite expecting to hear,” shares founding bandmember Lee Loughnane, “and it immediately pulls you in musically and emotionally.”

Chicago also kicks off their co-headline summer tour with Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys, with Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin today (Tues, June 7th) at Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. The band will make stops across the US in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Tampa, Cincinnati and more before wrapping up in Clarkston, MI at DTE Energy Music Theatre on July 26th.
