Chris Cornell tribute concert set for Los Angeles

Tickets on sale November 16th

Members of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Ryan Adams and more will gather at The Forum in Los Angeles on January 16th to pay tribute to Chris Cornell. Tickets for I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell go on sale November 16th at 10 am PT via Ticketmaster.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the event with other special guests expected to be announced. Proceeds will benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF). Cornell had supported awareness for the painful and debilitating genetic disorder through his commitment to helping others.

“In May of 2017 we lost one of the most unique, distinctive, and game-changing voices in rock with the passing of Chris Cornell. We were lucky enough to get to know Chris during the 1996 Lollapalooza tour with Soundgarden and we were honored to call him a friend and an inspiration. So, of course, we jumped at the chance to be a part of an amazing tribute concert taking place Los Angeles at The Forum on January 16, 2019,” Metallica says in a statement.

Each ticket purchased online for the show will include a copy of Cornell’s self-titled career retrospective album. The album will be available in several configurations, including a 17 track single album, 64 track limited-edition 4 CD box set (11 of them unreleased), 2 LP and 4 CD/7 LP/DVD Deluxe box set. The first release since his passing in 2017, the album will be released by Cornell’s wife, Vicky Cornell on behalf of The Chris Cornell Estate through UMe.
