Chris Janson has released his self titled EP on Tuesday via Bigger Picture Group which features the top 40 hit “Better I Don’t.” Although it’s only a five track album, its dynamics are incredible. “Cut Me Some Slack” is the newest single which will hit country radio next week, however, the other three songs on the album is what makes it so great.
“Redneck Revival” has it’s blue collar, backwoods feel. With lyrics like: “A congregation of sinners and disciples, redneck revival,” I was immediately pulled in.
“Holdin’ Her” is a track that expresses one of the many sides of Janson, his soft side. The song describes his feelings for his wife as well as his daughter.
The last song on the EP is “Corn.” The song describes all the ways people use corn. It’s very different and a must hear.
The EP is one of the best I’ve heard in a very long time. I’ve come to the conclusion Chris Janson should wear a cape, because he came to save country music and its people.
