The song will appear on his upcoming album
Multi-platinum recording artist and country chart-topper Chris Lane shares his latest sentimental summer standout, “2x4s & 4x6s,” available everywhere via Red Street Records. The song paints a heartwarming picture of a growing family and a beautiful life built from the ground up.
The chorus sings, “Weโre living it right now / Little white painted up farmhouse / Kids in the yard throwing touchdowns / Sunset sittin, weโre front porch sippinโ / Hot wheels rolling down the hallway / Memories taking up the wall space / Yeah it all started with just a frame / But now weโre in it / Hammer and a nail and a prayer all built it / Crazy how our whole world fits in 2×4โs and 4×6โs.”
Written by Lane alongside Ben Williams and Casey Brown and co-produced by Seth Mosley and Michael O’Connor, the song drops alongside an official video directed by BLNKSPCE Media. Viewers can watch a touching story unfold as a young couple plants roots and builds the life they’ve long imagined.
The release tees up Lane’s upcoming album, Shade Tree, out June 20th. This 12-track project marks Lane’s first full album since his 2018 Laps Around The Sun, which included double platinum “Take Back Home Girl” and No. 1-charted “I Don’t Know About You.” Fans can expect a host of new music alongside a selection of previously released fan-favorites including Lane’s country radio single, “If I Die Before You,” “What Am I Supposed to Tell The Dog,” and his recent release with CMT’s Next Women of Country’s Abby Anderson, “Fire We Found.”
