News 4 WSMV-TV will partner as well

CMT, WSMV-TV and the American Red Cross are teaming up for a fundraising telethon on Thursday (Mar 5th) for Middle Tennessee Tornado Relief. News 4 Anchor Lauren Lowrey and CMT host Cody Allen will host the event from 4-7 pm CT from the CMT studios in Downtown Nashville.

Country music artists, local television personalities and volunteers alike will be answering phones live during the telethon to take donations, share personal stories and encourage support of tornado relief efforts in Middle Tennessee following the devastation that swept through the area earlier this week.

The telethon will air on WSMV and across CMT’s social media platforms. All proceeds will benefit those displaced by the storms.

Two dozen people were killed with an estimated 77 others reported missing in Middle Tennessee after two EF-2 twisters tore through Davidson and Putnam Counties just before 1 am CT on Tuesday (Mar 3rd). Dozens of homes and businesses have been damaged or flatten. The hardest hit areas were Germantown and East Nashville, where the popular The Basement East venue was destroyed, leaving only the “I Believe in Nashville” mural wall left standing.

Nashville-based Gibson guitars is working to make guitarists affected by storms whole again, providing immediate help by giving a guitar to any musician whose instrument was damaged or destroyed through its charitable organization, Gibson Gives.
