Cody Johnson sells out first Globe Life Field headlining performance

The country star attended batting practice & threw out the ceremonial first pitch earlier this year

Multi-platinum artist Cody Johnson sold-out his first-ever headline stadium concert on Saturday night playing for 40,643 fans at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Special guests included Jon Pardi, Tracy Byrd, and Ella Langley. To announce this show, Johnson attended batting practice and threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a home Texas Rangers game this spring and returned to the field to perform the National Anthem at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game in July.

During his career, Cody has performed before massive stadium crowds as a special guest on tours with Zac Brown Band, Luke Combs, and Miranda Lambert, at Nissan Stadium as part of CMA Fest, and many rodeos and more. Among the rodeos were multiple appearances at the Houston Rodeo where in 2023 Cody became the third performer to sell out opening night following records set in previous years by Garth Brooks in 2018 and George Strait in 2017, with a crowd of 70,554 cheering fans.

Up next, Cody will attend The 58th Annual CMA Awards on November 20th where he is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Leather, Single of the Year for “Dirt Cheap” and two nominations for Music Video of the Year for both “The Painter” and “Dirt Cheap.” The CMA Awards will be broadcast live on ABC and the next day on Hulu.

Last week, Johnson released Leather Deluxe Edition, featuring the new single with Carrie Underwood.
